Foster Club Overview
As one of the largest charity clubs at WHBC, Foster Online Tutoring Club has been operating for over six years since its establishment in 2017. Our mission is to provide opportunities, channels, and platforms for children whose after-school learning needs are not being met, helping them with pre-class preparation, in-class exercises, and post-class Q & A sessions. At the same time, we aim to help high school students improve their social skills, give back to society, and realize their self-worth through this service.
List of some online tutoring participants
Over the past six years, our club members have worked diligently, offering one-on-one tutoring sessions to students weekly. We not only focus on key points and difficulties in the classroom but also tailor our teaching to each student’s needs, offering advanced lessons and personalized guidance for those who can go beyond the curriculum. Our members don’t just focus on academics; they also engage with students interested in physical education, music, and the arts, sharing knowledge and insights, helping them discover beauty, and grow through immersion in it.
Visiting Qianchang Town Primary School
During the 2023 Christmas holiday, the Foster Online Tutoring Club, in collaboration with the TCL Music Club and the Zhulang Documentary Team, visited Qianchang Town Primary School in Jingshan city, launching a vibrant social practice tutoring activity.

In this activity, our members acted as guest lecturers, providing the students at Qianchang Town Primary School with a diverse range of courses, including traditional music, English, chemistry, math, and psychology. Through carefully structured lessons and the teachers’ thorough explanations, the students quickly grasped new concepts. Additionally, through hands-on activities, they not only deepened their understanding but also enhanced their practical skills. Both students and teachers mutually grew from this short yet fruitful day. After the lessons, the students eagerly asked questions, and the teachers patiently answered, fostering an interactive environment that enhanced the learning experience and maximized the benefits of the courses.

To encourage learning and boost motivation, Foster Online Tutoring Club also implemented a reward system, recognizing students who excel in various subjects, actively participating in class discussions, and diligently completing their assignments outside of class. Besides participating in school activities, the club leadership also engaged in in-depth discussions with the administration of Qianchang Town Primary School, addressing issues in online teaching and exploring future long-term collaborations. They sought solutions for immediate challenges and considered how to give more comprehensive support to disadvantaged students in the future. This cross-school cooperation exemplifies the responsibility and commitment of our campus clubs and creates a positive platform for advancing local education.

Message Postcards
This semester, our club organized a free postcard event called "Message Postcards." The club prepared beautifully designed postcards and stickers for students to use. The event was well-received, with students from various grades sending their sincerest wishes to the children receiving tutoring. These heartfelt blessings were sent to the tutored children on June 1st.

We hope these postcards become a bright spot in the students' journey, inspiring them to keep moving forward and chase their dreams.
Floating Bottle Creation Event
"To gather far yet never stop, let's float and wander freely." This spring, our school held a Floating Bottle Creation Event. Volunteers from Foster and ISA International worked together, receiving enthusiastic support from more than 20 students from different grades. Not only did we create many beautiful floating bottles, but we also raised over 400 RMB, which was donated entirely to Qianchang Town Primary School, bringing warmth and hope to the children there.
Creating the floating bottles was simple, allowing students to enjoy a moment of serene beauty amidst their busy academic lives and craft their own unique memories. The floating eternal flower symbolizes a wish that never fades, representing hope that endures. Students preserved this flowing green in their bottles, symbolizing their dreams and aspirations.
Through these various activities, our club, like a small boat entering the river for the first time, drifts far with the help of the water. As time flows, we also wish to transform into the river itself, helping children find strength and see the world. May our actions, like a clear spring, nourish the hearts of those eager to grow, allowing the seeds of love and hope to take root, sprout, and flourish in their hearts.
